RollerCon | Las Vegas, NV
Teaching Artist, Hoop Skating & Hoop Making | 2025–2026
DJ / Hoop Skate Session Facilitator | 2026
At RollerCon, I lead hands-on hoop skating workshops that bring together roller skating, object manipulation, rhythm, balance, and creative movement. I also teach hoop-making workshops where participants construct and customize their own hoops while exploring measurement, materials, and design.
In 2026, I expanded my role by DJing a participatory hoop-skating session, using music to encourage movement, improvisation, connection, and play.
My classes welcome participants with a range of hooping and skating experience and emphasize progressive skill-building, experimentation, and developing an individual movement style.
Hoop Dance & Hoop Skating 2010–Present
For more than a decade, I have taught hoop dance and creative movement in workshops, festivals, camps, studios, community programs, and special events. My teaching approach breaks movement into approachable steps while leaving room for experimentation, improvisation, and personal expression.
Over time, my experience as both a roller skater and hoop dancer developed into my own interdisciplinary practice of hoop skating.
Selected Events: RollerCon • State College Pride • Farm Fest • State College Yoga Fest • Arts Crawl • Wing Fest • and other community workshops and festivals
My Teaching Approach
I believe people learn best when they are given the tools to succeed and the freedom to experiment. Whether I am teaching a technique, a hoop trick, a skating skill, or a construction process, I break complex ideas into manageable steps and encourage students to make those skills their own.
I want participants to leave my classes feeling successful, curious, and excited to continue exploring.
